A blogger’s income is decided by niche, monetization techniques, and most importantly traffic. Beginner bloggers in most cases will not make money during the first few months of blogging. This is due to the overwhelming amount of blogs on the internet (600+ million).
How long until I see income from blogging?
The amount of income a blogger can earn is based on their ability to build traffic and convert the traffic into sales. Blog owners can utilize different tactics when attempting to get traffic for their blogs.
The three most common and successful ways people build traffic are:
- Organic traffic (This is traffic that you receive from search engines such as Google and Bing)
- Social media traffic (This is traffic from social sources like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram)
- Paid Ads (Traffic that comes from purchasing ads)
Most bloggers focus on building traffic through Google. The issue with this method is new websites get trapped in what is known as the Google sandbox. This is a period of time that Google will not rank your websites well for the terms you optimize for until you have built trust and authority (3-6 months).
Social Media is another way Bloggers can build traffic. Social media is a great way to begin building traffic toward your blog. With consistent posting within one site it is possible to build an audience and readership.
Once you begin receiving a few thousand visitors a month through various methods it is time to start thinking about the best ways to monetize the traffic.
The main monetization methods of bloggers include:
- Running ads (Adsense, Ezoic)
- Affiliate Marketing (Share A Sale, Click Bank)
- Sponsor Posts
- Digital Products
When deciding on the best monetization methods for your blog remember only to support products you believe in. Do research on the products you are advertising for if you are unable to purchase the product. If you send your traffic to products that are poor quality you will build a reputation of a blogger out to make money at any cost including the cost of your readers.
How Much do Bloggers Make Per Post
If you plan on selling the content to another source a 500 word blog article can range from $5 to well over $100 depending on the source you’re selling it to and your expertise. If you are writing the blog post for your own blog the income generated can be several thousand each month.
The income generated from your blog post will be determined by what type of post you are writing and the amount of traffic received. Money posts are posts that review or sale certain products. These can be posts such as “10 Best Coffee Grinders” or “Why I Recommend This Product”.
